The 2024 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg Kabinett is clear, intense and initially vegetal on the nose, yet with aeration, it becomes much more fruity, reminiscent of pineapples, crushed rocks and salt. Round, lush and savory as well as stimulatingly saline on the palate, this is a still reductive, mouth-filling, light, tensioned and stimulatingly grippy Kabinett that needs some years to fully shine and unfold its talents. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2026.

The 2024 Riesling Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Kabinett #21 was made in minimal quantities. Reduction clouds the nose, but the palate presents stone and lemon candy. It is, I imagine, like licking a piece of slate that was dipped into superior, intense lemonade. Purity and poise are concomitants of that stone and irresistible lemon zestiness. Lightness is everything here. (Off-dry)
The 2024 Riesling Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Kabinett #27 represents the most serene lightness. This is a poetic cloud of lemon, tangerine and slate. This is as light as a soap bubble, yet absolutely precise. Its charm and ease wrap you in a gorgeous citric haze of utter purity. Heavenly. (Off-dry)
