Tasting notes
The 2024 Höllenpfad im Mühlenberg GG Roxheimer Riesling opens with ripe, juicy, rather generous fruit and a salty base. Powerful, dense and compact on the palate, with lots of citrus notes in the finish, this 2024 still needs a lot of time but also shows great promise. Tasted at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden, August 2025.

Much darker and more powerful than the sleek delicacy of the Dellchen, this is a wine of floral notes and crisp yellow fruit. Demanding structure with a firm phenolic grip and nervy finish, where a keen balance of savoury spice and stone is already showing. (PS)
The 2024 Riesling Roxheimer Höllenpfad im Mühlberg Grosses Gewächs, from the very heart of this red Permian sandstone site, tingles with a sense of pepper on the nose. The palate is beautifully clear and luminous, only revealing tender notions of the usually herbal savor as shimmering touches of tansy and yarrow. This is like a sublimation of Riesling. It’s ultra-light, ultra-bright and so deeply rooted in stone. (Bone-dry)
