2014 Mt. Veeder Merlot

The 2014 Merlot is bright, punchy and vibrant in the glass. The purity of the flavors is striking, but the wine needs quite a bit of time to come together. That won't be an issue, as the wine probably won't be released until spring 2018. Picking on the early side, along with mountain tannins contribute to the wine's overall feel. The 2014 is going to be a fascinating wine to follow and could turn out to be one of the surprises of the vintage.
