Tasting notes
Rostaing was one of the more successful producers in the rain-plagued vintage of 1993. As the scores and following tasting notes attest, Rostaing was able to obtain good levels of concentration, producing soft, seductive, complex, character-filled wines. He pruned 50% of his grapes in August and did a severe "triage" as the harvested grapes were brought in. His 1993 Cote Rotie displays a medium ruby color, a smoky bouquet, elegant, adequately concentrated, spicy flavors, and soft tannin. It will require drinking in its first 5-7 years of life. Anticipated maturity: 1998-2006. Last tasted 6/96.
