The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Cuvée Duvault-Blochet comes from the deselected lots of Grand Cru and is sold directly to selected restaurants. Garnet in hue with a pinkish rim, the bouquet has a carefree nonchalance about it, perhaps unburdened by thoughts of having to live up to the same level of expectation as the Grand Crus. Displaying brambly red fruit, raspberry and briar, a touch of Scottish broom and light orange blossom scents in the background, this feels open and "ready for action." The palate is medium-bodied, with fine, slightly powdery tannins. Such is its tension and perceptible "coolness" that you could misconstrue this as a cooler growing season. The 2022 tapers just a little towards the finish, but otherwise, this is a delicious, crisp Vosne-Romanée that should drink well for the next decade. 228 cases produced.
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cuvée Duvault-Blochet is another boisterous, demonstrative wine, bursting with aromas of sweet berries, orange zest and cedary new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, sweet and supple palate, its enveloping core of soft, sun-kissed fruit framed by polished, powdery tannins. Produced from younger vines in the domaine's grands crus, this cuvée is reserved for restaurants, and the 2022 should offer especially approachable drinking at table.
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Cuvée Duvault-Blochet 1er Cru is redolent of spice, crushed flowers, mocha and dried herbs. Its supple, inviting personality is sure to be enjoyed by those lucky enough to find it. A dense core of fruit announcers a 1er Cru endowed with real substance. Hints of lavender, blue fruits and clove linger.
About the producer

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti or simply “DRC” is without doubt the most famous domaine in Burgundy and one of the most famous producers on earth. The Grand Cru vineyard from which it takes its name produces the world’s most expensive wine by a long margin.
