Tasting notes
Tasted blind. Saline and refreshing. Good fruit. Well done! Only just not too drying on the end … (JR)

The 2021 Les Fiefs de Lagrange, which was chaptalized around half a degree, has an attractive, blackberry- and cassis-tinged bouquet, accented by a touch of wilted rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, rather light on the mid-palate and very simple compared to other vintages. As such, it is an early-drinking, Merlot-based Deuxième Vin .
Grazing ripeness, with crushed rose petals, soft berry fruits, and fresh acidities, pulls up a little short on the finish. Harvest September 27 to October 12.
The second wine of Château Lagrange, the 2021 Les Fiefs de Lagrange comes from younger vines and is 52% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petit Verdot. It delivers classy plum and cassis fruits as well as medium-bodied richness, a supple, elegant mouthfeel, the vintage's fresher, lively style, and solid aromatics of plums, cassis, tobacco, and violets.
