The powerful, impressively endowed 2005 St.-Joseph Clos de Cuminaille boasts a beautiful deep ruby/purple color along with a sweet perfume of rocks, black currants, blackberries, cedar, licorice, and tar. Full-bodied, powerful, and rich, it is meant for long-term cellaring (by St.-Joseph standards). Anticipated maturity: 2009-2020. Importer: David Hinkle, North Berkeley Imports, Oakland, CA; tel. Very opulent nose for this appellation. Very dark purplish too. Truly mouthfilling and broad without sacrificing the character of the appellation. Dry refreshing finish. (JR)
