Score 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013
Vivid ruby-red. Vibrant red fruit and floral aromas are complemented by smoky mineral and herb notes and a hint of cola. Spicy and impressively precise, offering energetic raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and suggestions of candied lavender and rose. The floral quality carries through the gently tannic, very persistent finish. I suspect that this pinot will age gracefully. The fruit here was sourced from the Q Block section of the vineyard, which was planted with the Pommard clone in the early 1970s; the pH here is 3.38.
