Tasting notes
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Davies coming from Diamond Mountain and spent 24 months in 78% new French oak. It sports a deep purple/plum color to go with a deep, nuanced bouquet of exotic flowers, spice, blackcurrants, and plums. Ripe, textured and opulent on the palate, with solid ripeness to its tannin, it has a terrific mid-palate and ample length on the finish. It's a classic, ripe, sexy wine from this appellation to drink over the coming two decades.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, the least expensive wine in the portfolio is a delicious, fruit-forward wine with blackcurrants, licorice, spice, soft tannins, medium to full body and an easygoing, consumer-friendly style. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Davies is the most powerful and tightly wound of the wines I saw. Firm Diamond Mountain tannins give the wines much of their distinctive personality. Graphite, smoke, licorice, black cherry, lavender and savory herbs develop in the glass, adding considerable complexity. Bright saline notes give the wine a final burst of energy on the close.
