Crushed flowers, sweet red berries, mint and spices waft from the glass in Paul Lato's 2013 Pinot Noir Duende Gold Coast Vineyard. The intense aromatic and bright cranberry/blood orange notes are signatures of own rooted, Martini clones Pinot on sandy soils. Exotic, lifted and full of intrigue, the Duende is once again one of the most distinctive wines in Lato's growing range.

A wine Paul calls his mini Chambolle, the 2013 Pinot Noir Gold Coast Vineyard Duende comes from 24+-year-old own-rooted vines and spent 15 months in 50% new French oak. It's a beautifully perfumed and elegant Pinot Noir that offers up classic strawberry, raspberry, underbrush and sweet spice notes in an ethereal, medium-bodied, seamless style. About as pure and delicate as they come, it's a flat-out gorgeous Pinot Noir to enjoy anytime over the coming 7-8 years.
