Score 88/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 1990

Certainly there is no problem with this 1985, which is an unbelievably seductive, exotic, smoky, rich wine that can be drunk with extraordinary pleasure today. This wine is well worth having, even in the most conscientiously stocked wine cellar. In 1985 legendary winemaker, Henri Jayer, was brought on as a consultant here, so this historic domaine, with some of the best-situated vineyards in Burgundy, can be expected to produce greater and greater wines. Jayer, who believes in no filtration and 100% new oak, has left his fingerprints all over the 1985s. This is certainly an up-and-coming superstar estate in the Cote d'Or.
