Tasting notes
(14.2% alcohol): Bright ruby-red. Pungent, wild scents of black raspberry, leather, meat, musky tobacco leaf and mint. Plush and fine-grained but with some peppery acidity impinging on the wine's fruit and giving the finish a tart quality. There's a touch of sweetness here and a fairly glyceral texture but this midweight is a bit green and pinched on the finish, not to mention a tad rustic. The tannins dust the tongue and teeth.

Good medium ruby. Deep aromas of dark fruits, licorice, graphite, flowers and smoky oak. Broad, suave and sweet, with an almost chocolatey ripeness to the dark fruit and sexy oak flavors. A lovely midweight wine, finishing with suave tannins and good echoing lift and length. Most of this blend is from Caldwell Vineyard vines facing northeast.
