Score 90-91/100 · Drink 2004-2010, Pierre Rovani, Feb 2004

Even though none of Frederic Magnien’s wines are fermented or aged in new oak barrels, the 2002 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie offers aromas of oak-laced red currants. Medium-bodied, ripe, and lush, it is a spicy, red berry and creamed almond-flavored effort. This silky-textured, fresh, and ripe wine should be drunk over the next 5-6 years.
