Medium red. Smoky red berries and underbrush on the nose; the ripest and most complex of these 2000s. Supple and shapely, with reasonably concentrated flavors of peppery red berries and spices. This offers good density and structure without any heaviness, but the hint of stemminess also suggests a more extractive vinification. Finishes with dusty, firm tannins and good persistence. Also tasted: 2000 Corral Creek Vineyards Willamette Valley.
