Score 90/100 · Drink 2000-2018, Robert Parker, Dec 1998

The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Tre Colline is a multi-dimensional, full-bodied, spicy wine with copious quantities of black currant fruit intermixed with cedar and weedy tobacco. Full-bodied, pure, and nicely-textured, it should be at its best with another 2-3 years of cellaring, and keep for 2 decades. The Cabernet Sauvignon Tre Colline is a new offering from Howell Mountain. These are tannic, backward, full-bodied wines with considerable punch and depth. The single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons are part of what Beringer calls their "Vineyard Collection." Produced in 200 case lots, readers expecting to find them sitting on a shelf in their local retail shops will be disappointed, as they are destined to be sold via Beringer's mailing list, or directly from the winery. Because of the limited quantities available, my notes on these wines are intentionally abbreviated. Release date, 4/00. Tel. (707) 963-7115; Fax (707) 963-1735
