2009 Twomey Pinot Noir Anderson Valley

(13.8% alcohol): Moderately saturated medium red, a bit pale at the rim. Low-toned aromas of licorice, caramel oak and sassafras. Then fairly dense and broad on the palate, with red fruit and spice flavors displaying modest definition and complexity. Finishes with dusty tannins. I wanted a bit more primary fruit and lift.
