The 2013 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard was matured in one-third new oak. It has a smudged, incense-scented bouquet that needs more varietal expression. The palate is simple with light tannin, chewy texture and needs more freshness and structure on the finish.

Brilliant red. Smoky cherry and mulberry aromas are complemented by suggestions of dried rose and sassafras. Spicy and incisive on the palate, offering lively red and dark berry flavors that tighten up on the back half. Hangs on with very good tenacity on the finish, where dusty, slow-building tannins give the wine a firm shape.
