Tasting notes
Uncomfortably tart. This wine may have suffered from being the only Margaret River representative in the selection. (JR)

The estate-bottled 2003 Shiraz (actually a blend of 85% Shiraz, 10% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color followed by a floral, black currant, mint, and toasty American oak-scented bouquet, and a creamy, rich finish with excellent concentration as well as precision. It should drink well for 5-7 years. Importer: Negociants, USA, Napa CA; tel. (707) 259-0993
About the producer

Vasse Felix was the first winery in Margaret River, founded in 1967. Today, it is one of Western Australia’s – and the New World’s – most respected names, crafting outstanding, cool-climate Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from this remote region, south of Perth.
