Tasting notes
The 2000 Zinfandel Juvenile is a composite blend of fruit from young vines from all the top Zinfandel vineyards Turley farms (i.e., Moore/Earthquake, Hayne, Duarte, and Presenti). These young vine parcels are segregated and not blended with the old vine parcels used for the more substantial offerings produced under the single vineyard labels. There are 950 cases of the Juvenile, which sees about 20% new oak. This is a great value in Zinfandel ($20.00), offering abundant quantities of cassis and blackberry fruit, a big, peppery, spicy nose, medium to full body, and loads of berry fruit offered in an extravagantly rich, grapy style. This fun wine should last for 4-6 years. Tel. (707) 963-0940; Fax (707) 963-8683

(a blend of young vines from several vineyards) Full, deep red. Exotic red fruits, clove and a peppery nuance on the nose. Juicy, fruit-driven and firm, with an attractive balance for early consumption. Ripe and peppery. Finishes with dusty tannins.
