Score 93/100 · Drink 2024-2031, Jeb Dunnuck, Aug 2024

A rich red color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Old Eight Cut is fruity and floral with notes of ripe raspberry preserve, sweet earth, crushed flowers, and candied flowers. Medium-bodied and ripe with plush, sweet tannins, it has a pleasing gravelly touch of mineral texture on the finish. It’s very pretty and ripe now, although it should hold on over the coming 5-7 years.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Old Eight Cut overdelivers for its modest price. It marries pomegranate and rhubarb with savory nuances of tobacco, mushrooms, dried earth and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with dark red, spicy fruit. It has a fine, dusty texture, mouthwatering acidity and a long, flavorful finish.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Old Eight Cut is understated, showing nuances of black raspberry, mint and cedary spice. It's pleasantly sweet within, balancing tart red berry fruits and juicy acidity that maintains a fantastic balance. It leaves a tart primary concentration to mingle with fine-grained tannins, tapering off with medium length and a licorice tinge.
