Tasting notes
Light, honeyed, pithy and clean with green-apple fruit that is defiantly fresh for a three-year-old white under cork. Tasty, bright, textural – but doesn't seem to be developing any of the complexity that you'd expect from Loire equivalents. (RH)

The 2019 Chenin Blanc The Haven Vineyard comes from vines planted in 2001 on dense clay at 1,200 feet in elevation. It has singular aromas of lime sherbet, petrol, beeswax, lemon meringue and jasmine. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated flavors of bruised apples and exotic touches of flowers and citrus. It has a broad, alluring texture that lengthens the finish and powerful, juicy acidity that calls you in for another sip. This powerful yet energetic Chenin Blanc will pick up savory complexity in bottle—I'd love to try this with some age! 115 cases were made.
