Score 95/100 · Drink 2021-2031, Jeb Dunnuck, Sep 2021

The 2019 Nemesis checks in as 77% Syrah, 20% Grenache, and 3% Tannat that saw a full two years in a mix of new and neutral oak. Exotic spices, peony flower, ground pepper, bay leaf, and assorted meaty, darker fruits give way to a full-bodied, ripe, unctuous Syrah with terrific purity of fruit. It too will keep for a decade. Matt Trevisan continues to make brilliant and singular wines from eclectic blends under his Linne Calodo label. As I say in some of the reviews, I continue to find a small amount of spritz in many of Matt’s new releases. I suspect this is just trapped CO2, so don’t be afraid to give these a solid decant if drinking any time soon.
