Tasting notes
The 2015 Encosta is another rocking little blend from this team that has tons of character and opulence. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc aged in 65% new French oak, it boasts a deep purple color as well as a forward, sexy perfume of crème de cassis, blueberries, violets, and flowers. It’s a full-bodied, pleasure-bent effort that has loads to love.

The 2015 Encosta is a gorgeous second wine from Gandona. Dark, sumptuous and inviting, the 2015 possesses striking depth. Black cherry, blueberry jam, cloves and new leather are all pushed forward. Racy and sumptuous in the glass, the 2015 is a real winner, especially at this level. Drink it over the next handful of years.
The 2015 Gandona Vineyards Encosta Cabernet Sauvignon is very deep garnet-purple in color with a lovely red and black cherries, black berries and mulberries nose with hints of bay leaves, yeast extract and Bovril. Medium-bodied, fine and fresh with lovely open-knit fruit, it finishes long.
