Tasting notes
Cru bourgeois exceptionnel. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot. 12 months in barrel. Mid greyish crimson. Perfumed and spicy with black fruits but also a touch floral and stony. Finely textured tannins, lightish body and a long, fresh finish. A little bit dry at the very end. (JH)

The 2018 Paveil de Luze has a clean, precise bouquet of black cherries, cassis and light violet aromas, very well defined with well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and linear, with a tobacco- and cedar-tinged entry and a fresh, marine-influenced finish. This is a finely crafted Margaux that should give a decade’s worth of drinking pleasure.
Based on 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, the 2018 Château Paveil De Luze offers a beautiful, classic Margaux complexity and elegance. Lots of black raspberry and cassis fruits as well as notes of sandalwood, dried flowers, truffle, and loamy soil emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with a layered, seamless texture and ripe, moderate tannins. It already offers pleasure, yet I see no reason it shouldn't evolve for 10-15 years. It's one heck of a delicious Cru Bourgeois!
