Score 95/100 · Drink 1997-2012, Robert Parker, Dec 1997

One of Beringer's newest projects is to expand the top of their portfolio, offering limited quantities (approximately 200 case lots) of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from the different terroirs. Two-hundred cases were produced of the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Marston Vineyard, a vineyard planted on Spring Mountain. This stunning Cabernet boasts a dense black/purple color, jammy blueberry and cassis aromas, and a fruit-driven style. Despite being aged in 100% new oak, little wood is noticeable in this sexy, voluptuously-textured, dazzlingly-concentrated, richly-fruity wine. Its low acidity and purity make for a compellingly drinkable Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: now-2012. Tel. (707) 963-7115; Fax (707) 963-1735
