The 1985 La Croix de Gay 1985 has an attractive, savory bouquet with dark berry fruit aromas and just a faint tang of seaweed. It has nice definition and is quite refined. The palate is rounded and sensual on the entry, with sage-tinged savory red berry fruit, thyme and white pepper notes, lending it an almost Rhône-like animally quality. With good length and freshness, the 1985 is on point. Tasted June 2011. Tasting note taken from the Pomerol book by Neal Martin.
