Bright red. Vibrant aromas of redcurrant, flint and stony minerality. Silky, sweet and seamless, but with harmonious acidity and chalky minerality energizing the middle palate. Really spreads out and lingers on the aftertaste but the chalky tannins will require at least a few years of patience.

Deep crimson. Very sweet, ripe red cherry nose. Similarly sweet on the palate. The sweet/sour cherry suggests some volatile acidity, perhaps a not perfect sample. It's certainly fresh in its acidity but a bit tired in the bottle. A fresher sample may be better. Not terribly refined for the price. (JH)
Bright, deep red. Pure but tight nose hints at strawberry, raspberry, flowers, spices, pungent herbs and orange zest. Intensely flavored, tactile and saline but distinctly taut today, with an almost lemony piquancy to the focused flavors of wild strawberry and blood orange. Densely packed but youthfully austere today. The long, floral, slowly mounting finish is like a slap in the face. This wine, which Clavelier says is "always the hardest to describe at the beginning," will need several years of bottle aging.
