The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate displays a deep purple-black color, needing a fair bit of swirling to unlock notes of cassis, wild blueberries and stewed plums, followed by hints of sandalwood, cedar, Indian spices and charcoal. The full-bodied palate is rich, opulent and hedonic, featuring concentrated black fruit preserves flavors with a whole fireworks display of exotic spice sparks, framed by velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with fantastic length.

Beautiful crème de cassis, tobacco, leafy herbs, chocolate, and scorched earth nuances define the bouquet of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, a rich, ripe, pedal-to-the-metal Cabernet. With sweet tannins, a terrific sense of opulence complemented by sound structure and notable balance, and a great finish, it’s a prime candidate for drinking any time over the coming 15-20 years. This cuvée comes from a mix of Rutherford, Oakville, and Napa Valley fruit and spent 20 months in 63% new French oak.
The 2018 Lithology Napa Valley is a terrific introduction to the Bulgheroni wines. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, mocha, spice and new leather are pushed forward in this succulent wine. Sweet floral notes and bright acids lend vivacity to this racy, open-knit Napa Valley Cabernet. Drink it over the next decade, give or take.
