Tasting notes
The 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape seems to be on a relatively fast maturing track. Cigar box elements have already emerged, joining cherries and dried spices. Full-bodied and silky in texture, it can be drunk now and over the next 5-6 years.

Opaque ruby. Aromas of ripe blackberry and candied flowers show good clarity and spicy lift. Supple, sweet and seamless, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a hint of cola. Fine-grained tannins shape the long, floral finish of this rich yet lively wine.
Inky ruby. Exotic, highly aromatic bouquet of blackberry, blueberry, spicecake, incense and musky herbs. Sweet and velvety in the mouth, offering vivid dark berry flavors accented by Indian spices, vanilla and white pepper. Gains energy and power with air but maintains an elegant character, finishing with very good clarity and gentle tannic persistence.
