Tasting notes
Vibrant crimson color. High-pitched black raspberry, cherry, exotic spice and potpourri scents show excellent clarity and take on a minerally quality with air. Taut and energetic on the palate, offering ripe red and blue fruit and cola flavors that are complemented by suggestions of candied rose, vanilla and allspice. The fresh, impressively persistent finish displays a strong mineral quality, suave florality and harmonious tannins that lend gentle grip.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard comes from a valley floor, cooler site, and it saw 50% stems and spent 16 months in 40% new French oak. This juicy, rounded effort has some exotic cherry, mulberry, Asian spice, lead pencil, and liquid violet-driven aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, bright, beautifully balanced, and incredibly elegant, it's a rock star effort to drink over the coming decade.
Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard has an open nose with scents of crushed blueberries and black cherries, licorice, perfumed earth, dried citrus and oodles of floral perfume. Medium-bodied and concentrated with nuanced fruits, it has a sturdy frame of grainy tannins, great freshness and a long, layered finish. 281 cases produced.
