Tasting notes
Brilliant red. Fragrant red and dark berry scents are complemented by cola, mocha and licorice nuances. Silky and open-knit, showing very good energy and lift to the black raspberry and cherry cola flavors. Finishes on a smoky mineral note, offering strong persistence, gentle tannins and lingering spiciness.

The 2013 Reserve Pinot Noir comes from a selection of the best block on the estate and sees ten months in 30% new French oak. It has a tightly wound black cherry and bergamot-scented bouquet that just needs to develop more intensity. It feels timid at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, fine acidity, but I would have liked a little more complexity and personality to be revealed on the finish. Not bad at all, but I think other vintages have more to offer.
