Tasting notes
Score 87/100 · Drink 1997-2012, Robert Parker, Apr 1997

If it were not for the pronounced bell pepper, vegetal note in both the aromas and flavors, this wine might merit an outstanding rating. Full-bodied, with gorgeously rich, sweet, blackcurrant, and cedar-flavored fruit, it is lush and pure, and coats the palate with a multi-textured feel. The acidity, wood, and tannin are well-integrated, but the vegetal character is a distraction. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Readers may remember that previous vintages of this wine were far less marked by such greenness. Importer: Franklin Selections, Annapolis Junction, MD; tel. (410) 880-4790
