Tasting notes
Pretty wine with subtle aromas and flavors of currants, chocolate and walnuts that follow to a medium, compact palate. Ripe and silky tannins. Drink or hold.

Oak spice here plays the primary role for the wine. Also shows notes of cedar and dried herbs with back notes of dripping ripe purple and black fruit. A hot pepper finish. Persistent, dry tannins and mouth-washing acidity. (ECB)
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford displays more loamy soil notes and a softer, more feminine style than the Napa bottling or the Coombsville offering. It possesses good concentration, pretty strawberry and black and red currant notes, light tannin and a medium-bodied mouthfeel. As 2013s go, it is very good, but hardly inspirational. Drink it over the next ten years.
A deep, intensely mineral wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (Coombsville) offers up a compelling mélange of grilled herbs, smoke, black cherry jam and sweet spices. The interplay of savory and more opulent, fruit-driven notes is compelling. There is so much to like here.
