Score 88/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2007

Hazy medium red. Musky red fruits, cured meat, dried herbs and underbrush; missing the floral high tones of Jordan's other pinots from the North Coast. Solid and sweet but a bit undifferentiated; in a chunkier style. Has stuffing but could use more energy. Tannins are slightly dry.

Score 88/100 · Drink 2006-2011, Robert Parker, Dec 2006

Jordan’s real love/goal is his search for the holy grail ... a perfect Pinot Noir ... and he continues to demonstrate a growing mastery of this difficult varietal. The dark ruby-colored 2005 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast reveals a decidedly herbaceous pomegranate character along with plenty of spice, fresh acidity, and a medium-bodied, Cote de Beaune-like style. It should drink well for 3-5 years.
