Ruby-red. Vanilla, woodsmoke and dark berry preserves on the heady, intensely perfumed nose. Broad and fleshy, offering sweet blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors and notes of clove, espresso and candied violet. Shows impressive power and breadth on the finish, which strongly echoes the vanilla and spice notes. Impressive for its volume but there's no way that I'd have guessed that this wine was made from pinot noir. This wine, and in fact all the 2009s I tasted from Domaine Serene, would show well in tastings of Central Coast grenache or maybe even South Australian shiraz.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Mark Bradford Vineyard has a captivating nose of sandalwood, exotic spices, incense, rose petal, black cherry, and black raspberry. It is the densest, richest, and most layered of the Serene offerings and will reward 1-2 years of cellaring. It offers a drinking window extending from 2012 to 2021. Domaine Serene’s Chardonnays are outstanding and fairly priced for what they deliver. They are all made entirely from Dijon clones, barrel-fermented, and aged on the lees. Tel.
