Tasting notes
(Dauvissat pulled this sample from a 1959 barrel!): Bright yellow. Reticent but pure aromas of peach oil and linden flower. Dense, concentrated and sharply chiseled if quite closed today, with white peach and floral flavors lifted by an intense spiciness. Boasts terrific energy and cut but hiding as much as it's showing today. Finishes with palate-staining lemony length.

Very pale yellow. Knockout nose combines pear, white peach, wild herbs and flowers. At once dense and remarkably incisive, conveying outstanding cut and purity, not to mention inner-palate floral lift. With its bracing acidity, this utterly palate-staining wine is almost painful in the early going. It will need extended cellaring.
