Tasting notes
The 2010 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard is huge, dark and imposing, as so many wines are from this site in this vintage. Dark red cherries, menthol, spices and licorice wrap around the juicy palate. The 2010 is a decidedly dark, intense wine that shows the effects of the September heat spikes.

Andrew Vingiello left a career as a buy side stock trader to follow his passion for making wine, and never looked back. Vingiello was deeply influenced by the time he spent working with Brian Loring. All of these Pinots are made with fully destemmed fruit. They spend about 11 months in French oak and are bottled without fining or filtration. Neither 2010 nor 2011 can be called an easy vintage. I look forward to seeing what Vingiello does in a vintage that is closer to normal, as these wines are delicious and show considerable potential. Tel. (415) 218-7161
