A similar saturated dark red color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Christopher's comes from a northern exposition at 2400 feet elevation on decomposed volcanic soils. it’s layered and deep, with hallmark aromatics of cigar box, tobacco, blackcurrants, wild minty herbs, and leather. The palate has a lovely purity and ripeness to the fruit, with a velvety texture, and its darker mineral and mouthwatering accents emerge after the wine is gone. It’s a lovely wine with considerable complexity that can be enjoyed over the next 15 years.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Christopher's Vineyard contains a 1.8% splash of Petit Verdot and was aged 20 months in 64% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it features a knock-out perfume of candied violets, warm cassis, preserves plums and blueberry compote with hints of eucalyptus, dark chocolate, Indian spices and oolong tea with a waft of cedar. The palate is full-bodied, firmly structured and offers wonderfully firm, ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness supporting the vivacious black and blue fruits, finishing very long and very layered. 406 cases produced, to be released in September 2019.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Christopher's (there's a touch of Petite Sirah) has slightly more red fruit as well as elegance. Cassis, framboise, violets, spice, and floral notes all emerge from this seamless, silky, incredibly elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that shines on all accounts. From vines planted in 1991 in volcanic soils, it spent 20 months in 64% new French oak. Stonestreet falls under the Jackson Family umbrella and focuses on higher elevation, mountain sites. The wines, made by Lisa Valtenbergs, are rock-solid across the board.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Christopher's is a positively stellar wine. Rich, powerful and unctuous, the 2015 possesses stunning intensity in all of its dimensions. Soaring aromatics, dense fruit and impeccable balance add up to a compelling Cabernet Sauvignon that shows all the best qualities of Stonestreet off to great effect. The transformation at Stonestreet in recent years is compelling. Nowhere is that more evident than in the 2015. This is a superb showing.
