Tasting notes
This top-flight winery has turned out a medium ruby-colored 2001 Zinfandel Guiseppe and Luisa (15.3% alcohol). Big, tangy, sweet aromas of black raspberries, cherries, and spice box are followed by a fleshy, medium to full-bodied offering with gorgeous purity, a lovely texture, and enough acidity to provide vibrancy and uplift. This is the freshest, most vigorous and vibrant of this trio. Enjoy it over the next 3-5 years. Tel. (707) 525-0570

(15.3% alcohol) Bright medium ruby. Roasted black fruits and maple syrup on the deeply spicy nose. Dense, fat and rich; fresher than the 2000 version, which carried much higher alcohol. Finishes with big, rough, slightly dusty tannins.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
