Score 91/100 · Drink 2018-2026, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2018

(François Bitouzet was at wine school in Beaune in 1999): Musky plum and redcurrant aromas are complicated by a balsamic nuance. Penetrating wine with lovely intensity and lift to its soil-driven red fruit and underbrush flavors. Tightly wound and not particularly expansive but shows excellent energy and thrust. Finishes classically dry, with building dusty tannins and excellent length. More fruit emerges with aeration and this wine may remain alive for years on its energy but I'd still prefer to drink it over the next several years.
