The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots has a refined bouquet with hints of fennel and broom infusing the tightly wound citrus fruit. There is something gentle about the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of dried honey on the entry. A little richer than I was expecting, this is a generous Meursault that has an attractive and decidedly smooth texture, a pinch of spice and walnut developing on the finish. This is a decent Meursault, albeit one where I was seeking more nervosité.
