Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2023-2033, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Corton Clos-du-Roi Grand Cru is quite broody and backward on the nose of introverted black fruit, possibly closing down with the second winter in barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, and more body and sinew compared to the Corton-Perrières, leading to a grainy-textured, dense finish. Give this three to five years in bottle.
