Score 89/100 · Drink 1991, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
This has always been one of the sleepers of the vintage. The 1979 du Tertre continues to exhibit a marvelous tarry, rich, deep, berry-scented bouquet, fat, supple, very concentrated, fruity flavors, medium body, and fine length. Enough tannin remains for 5-7 more years of evolution. This is a bargain-priced wine to look for at the auctions. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 1/91.
