Score 90-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2008

Good deep red. Distinctly cool, smoky aromas of redcurrant, licorice and menthol. Sweet but tightly wrapped, with cool flavors of black fruits and minerals. This fruit was picked with 13.3% potential alcohol, but has a lower pH than Magnien's negociant version, which comes from vines next to Clos Saint-Jacques. Firm tannins and acids give this a solid structure for aging.
