(from the hills above Anderson Valley) Good full red-ruby. Aromas of maraschino cherry, cola, minerals, earth and meat, along with hints of sage and tea. Dense, sappy and sweet, with more obvious new oak showing than in the appellation bottlings. Long and minerally on the end, with a slightly rustic character. Here the crop level was lower than that of 1999.
