Tasting notes
Good full red. Aroma of currant, black plum, spices, roasted herbs, smoke and underbrush. Nicely silky for this wine at this early stage, with intriguing, Bonnes-Mares-like flavors of wild red berries, pepper, herbs and spices. A high percentage of virused vines here routinely produces small berries, notes Mugnier. Finishes with high-quality tannins. This has turned out very well.

A tight, slightly compressed wine, the ruby-colored 2001 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees, reveals appealing stony red fruit aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, it has an excellent to outstanding, satin-textured attack prior to its abrupt finish. The score will appear overly conservative if this effort fleshes out as it completes elevage. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. A Becky Wasserman Selection / Le Serbet; French Fax: 011-33-3-80-24-29-70, various American importers
Good deep, medium red. Reduced on the nose. Then sappy, full and rich in the mouth, with a restrained sweetness. It's tricky to see the clarity here, as this rather austere wine needs the aeration of a racking. But certainly finishes with good ripe tannins.
