The 2015 Meursault Clos des Bouchères 1er Cru has a simple lime and apple blossom bouquet, with touches of peach wafting in after a minute in the glass. The palate is well balanced, though it feels a little reduced on the entry. There is moderate depth here and the acidity is well judged, although the finish lacks some substance and nuance. I suspect this may have just closed down. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères is quite reserved, unfurling with extended aeration to exhibit notes of Anjou pear, crisp white peach and spring flowers, against a subtle background of almond paste. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, elegantly glossy and deceptively open-knit, with juicy acids and a mouthwatering, saline finish. Right now, only the outlines of what this showed during élevage and what it will be in a few more years' time are apparent, so I would encourage readers to forget any bottles they may own until 2020.

(these vines were picked on August 28 and 29--"always at the beginning," noted David Croix): Pale yellow. Very tight nose hints at charred oak (this wine was bottled last, on April 10). Rich, tactile and smooth, conveying lovely lemony acidity and spicy freshness for this bottling. Youthfully tight for Bouchères but subtle and refined. Finishes tactile, chewy and long, and not at all overripe.
