Semillon from Citrusdal Mountain. 16 hl/ha. Ageing 12 months in old foudre. Tightly bound chord of green apple, ginger, lime and wild grass. Linear and pure with delicate whiffs of orange blossom melding into the faintest hint of lanolin. Textural rather than creamy on the palate, remarkably precise, still quite firm and unyielding but giving more and more as it opens up. (MF)

Sadie Family
Since he started making wine under his own name in 2000, Eben Sadie became a cult name in South Africa. The Swartland producer is best known for his flagship Columella and Palladius, but he also makes a range of whites and reds under the Old Vine Series, which became the District Series in 2025.
