The 2015 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru has a light, tightly coiled bouquet that may require another year to fully unwind. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, and quite saline in the mouth. The finish is not terribly complex, but there is satisfying tension and a pleasant tang of spice on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

(these vines were not stressed in 2015 due to the site's moisture-retentive soil, according to winemaker Brian Sieve): Bright straw-yellow. Exotic pineapple and wild herbs on the nose. Then juicy, fresh and tightly wound, showing surprising lemony citricity and firming minerality. Surprisingly crisp and balanced for a south-facing vineyard in 2015, and not at all exotic.

The 2015 St Aubin 1er Cru en Remilly has a fragrant bouquet, demonstrating the mineralité, that cold stone scent that often defines this vineyard. The palate is crisp and fresh with plenty of green apple, fresh pear and saline notes, nicely focused with good concentration towards the persistent finish. This is an excellent en Remilly from the domaine.

Deepish straw. Round, putty nose. Relatively soft and smudgy. Easy and sweetish. Less precise than some of its stablemates. (JR)
