Score 88/100 · Drink 2001, Robert Parker, Aug 1997
This opaque purple-colored wine reveals licorice, pepper, earth, and underbrush in its modest aromatics. Full-bodied, dense, and tannic, with good extract and muscle, but not yet silky-smooth, it requires another 4-5 years of cellaring. It is one of the finest Petite Syrahs Stags Leap has produced in the last decade. Tel. (707) 944-2020

About the producer

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
Warren Winiarski founded Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in 1970 when he purchased the Stag’s Leap Vineyard in Napa’s Stags Leap District. The 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon – only the second vintage – won the famous 1976 Judgement of Paris blind tasting, rocketing the estate to fame.
